I'm hopeful for the first time in years

It's really important to us that the people we support are receiving a good service and being positively impacted by our work. We partner with Arden University to complete a detailed service evaluation each year, analysing the responses to the detailed questionnaire we send out to all of our service users, asking for their feedback and rating their experience and how having a volunteer befriender has affected them.

In our most recent evaluation we recorded the following ratings:

  • 87% of people feel better or much better about getting through their sentence since being matched with a volunteer
  • 77% of people feel better or much better about themselves since being matched with a volunteer
  • 83% of people feel better or much better about the future since being matched with a volunteer
  • 83% of people feel better or much better connected to the outside world since being matched with a volunteer

I have much more confidence and hope for the future. My sense of self-worth is greatly increased. I have someone I can share things with who will not judge me and can show empathy
